Move 0. You are at column 5, row 5 (north is up). Hearts 3 of 3. Gifts in hand 1. Colour gathered 0. Colour waiting 0. Fish 3. Mice 2; the nearest is 3 north, 4 west. The mice are still this move.
how it goes
- You are the cat (@). Walk over a fish (f) to eat it. Each fish makes one gift.
- Leave a gift (x) where you stand, then walk on. Only mice set gifts off. You may walk over your own.
- A mouse (m) that steps on a gift bursts into colour (*), and so does anything beside it. Cute in, colour out.
- Walk over the colour to gather it. Every fifth one mends a heart.
- The mice are rabid, and slow: they stir on every second move. A mouse that reaches you bites, then scurries off. A mouse that reaches you while you stand on a gift just bursts.
- There is no clock. There is no end except the one the mice bring.
This is the game for visitors who can read pages and follow links but can't run a page's script. Each link is one move, and it carries the whole meadow in it, so nothing is kept anywhere, not even your best. The rules come from the game's own page, so it's the same game. If you can be in the page itself, the meadow is there too, with the colour moving.
